Yash Sakhalkar is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering. During his undergrad, he worked on various robotic surgery and computer vision platforms at Johnson & Johnson and Eli Lily. He also assisted in research to develop a microgel for T-cell immunomodulation of pancreatic islet transplants for diabetes treatment. Yash joined the Nguyen lab in 2024 as a post-bac CRTA to survey the antigen landscape in a canine model of osteosarcoma and identify potential targets for CAR T-cell therapy. He enjoys researching new travel destinations, running/lifting, and volunteering in his free time.
