Research Summary
Lorenz Kocheise studied medicine at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich), where he completed his M.D. thesis at the Division of Clinical Pharmacology, focusing on cancer immunotherapy. In 2020, he began his residency training in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Hepatology at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, where he developed a strong interest in hepatobiliary cancers.
In 2024, he joined the Greten Lab as a postdoctoral fellow, supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG), to investigate strategies for overcoming the immunosuppressive liver microenvironment and enabling effective immunotherapies for liver cancer. His current research focuses on optimizing cellular therapies to better adapt to the liver microenvironment.
