This section includes a series of articles that explain how laboratory researchers perform experiments and the types of experiments that they carry out. Each article will explore a different aspect of research.
Please note that currently, the starting materials that we require to perform many of the experiments described below are not available for wildtype GIST. Therefore, we have used other tumors as examples. Some of the photographs in these articles contain images of tumors and mice, which may be upsetting to some people. Therefore, these images will require that you move the cursor on the image to view it.
At the end of each article is a short section entitled: “What can I do to help?” This section will focus on things that you, the reader, can do to help in research efforts.
Following this is another short section: “Frequently asked questions about this article.” You are encouraged to ask any questions and we will do our best to answer them.
Readers are also encouraged to provide suggestions for future articles.
