RESEARCH SUMMARY
Dr. Fadil Iqbal received his B.S. in Computational Physics from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He then came to the USA to pursue his PhD in Biophysics and Bioimaging from Indiana University Indianapolis (formerly known as IUPUI). He was mentored by Dr. Jing Liu where he used single-molecule localization techniques to study the structure and dynamics of chromatin in response to DNA damage and metabolic regulations such as AMPK. In 2024, he joined the group of Dr. Tatiana Karpova at the Laboratory of Receptor Biology and Gene Expression at the National Cancer Institute to investigate intracellular dynamics of transcriptional activators and co-activators in yeast cells using super-resolution techniques. Outside of science, Fadil has two little boys, a wife, and a YouTube channel to keep him busy.
