RESEARCH SUMMARY
Dr. Gloria R. Garcia received a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Oregon State University. She was mentored by Dr. Robyn Tanguay, where she worked on understanding the molecular mechanisms of environmental toxicities using a combination of biochemistry, genetic engineering, and morphological screens using the zebrafish model. In 2018, she joined the group of Dr. Daniel R. Larson to investigate the non-canonical role(s) of the splicing factor U2AF in regulating the mRNA life cycle during normal growth and disease etiology. In addition to science, Gloria has a passion for creating and viewing art, eating delicious food, and spending time with family.
