RESEARCH SUMMARY

Katie Muilenburg received her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her dissertation research investigated targeted fluorescence-guided surgery for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. In the Laboratory of Human Carcinogenesis, her research focuses on using bioinformatics to study liver cancer epidemiology and using wet lab techniques to investigate the role of antibodies in liver cancer development. Katie’s other research interests include cancer gene therapy, delivery of antibodies for cancer treatment, phage therapy, and space travel research. In her free time, Katie enjoys playing her instruments (piano and world flutes), baking, reading, and enjoying the outdoors.
