Louis Staudt elected as a fellow of the AACR Academy

Louis Staudt, M.D., Ph.D., Co-Chief of the Lymphoid Malignancies Branch, was elected to the 2019 class of fellows of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Academy. The mission of the AACR Academy is to recognize and honor distinguished scientists whose major scientific contributions have propelled significant innovation and progress against cancer, and to leverage the expertise of the global brain trust of fellows of the AACR Academy to advance the mission of the AACR to prevent and cure all cancers through research, education, communication and collaboration.

Steve Rosenberg receives Szent-Györgi Prize for Progress in Cancer Research

Steve Rosenberg, M.D., Ph.D., Chief of the Surgery Branch, has received the 2019 Szent-Györgi Prize for Progress in Cancer Research. The award recognizes indivuduals with a seminal discovery or a body of work that has resulted in or led toward notable contributions to cancer prevention, diagnosis or treatment, and the discovery has had a lasting impact on the cancer field with a high direct impact of saving lives.

Steve Rosenberg receives 2019 Nathan Davis Award and Steinman Award

Steve Rosenberg, M.D., Ph.D., Chief of the Surgery Branch, has received the American Medical Association’s 2019 Dr. Nathan Davis Award for Outstanding Government Service and The American Association of Immunologists’ 2019 Steinman Award for Human Immunology Research. The Nathan Davis Award recognizes individuals who promoted the art and science of medicine via government service and demonstrated outstanding leadership in his/her field. The Steinman Award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to the understanding of immune processes underlying human disease pathogenesis, prevention or therapy.
